Knitting and reading are two of my favorite things in the world to do and I am excited to share what I am working on with you 🙂
Currently on the needles are Chistian’s Rainbow Socks. Christian fell in love with this rainbow yarn the second he saw it and begged me to make him some rainbow socks. He insists on trying them on after every stripe change, oohing and aahing over how soft and amazing they are with the level of genuine enthusiasm that only a 5 year old can muster. I honestly cannot remember a knitting project that has ever been this gratifying to knit!
Reading wise, I have been working my way through Gardening With Chickens to tide me over until the snow melts outside, which is actually happening at an astonishing pace up here for being so early in the year. I’m actually going to a Chicken Keeping class taught by the author Lisa next week and I am super excited to learn more about using herbs and edible flowers to keep my little backyard flock happy and healthy 🙂
The other book I’m reading today is a well worn favorite in honor of Dr. Suess’ birthday today! Our Pre-K curriculum had a fruit salad rainbow snack/activity planned for this week and it fit perfectly with the book 🙂 Christian loved cutting up the fruit and making rainbows with it on the plate! I read while he ate, and he grabbed my camera to take a picture of me reading the book to him. He is a shutterbug in the making!
What are you making/reading? Tell me in the comments, then join up with me and Ginny by clicking the graphic below 🙂
